How to Play

Play Merge Block online for free. Merge Block is a tile merging puzzle game that's a mix of Tetris and 2048. Match blocks with identical values to merge them. Earn points based on the value of each block you merge. Keep playing until the stack of blocks reaches the top of the field. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select the green play button to begin.

Game Controls
- Desktop

      - The top row contains the following indicators, from left to right:
        Your top score
        The next block
        Your current score
        The bottom row contains the following controls:
        Speaker button: Turns the music on or off
        Pause button
        Reset button: Restarts the game from the beginning
        Game Play
        Basic rules
        Place 2 identical number blocks beside or above one another to merge them.
        The blocks will descend from the top of the screen.
        These blocks are chosen at random.
        However, larger block values only appear further into the game.
        Together, they merge to form a number block that’s twice the value of the original.
        The blocks merge in the direction you clicked or tapped on.
        If there is a vertical merge and a horizontal merge that are enabled by a single tile that falls on top then the vertical merge happens first and the horizontal merge does not happen since the first merge already happened.
        Your merges can set off chain reactions.
        The block slowly descends. Place the block before it reaches the bottom of them screen.
        Earn points for every number you merge.
        Your score is based on the value of the block you merged.
        Your lowest possible score per merge will be 4, which is the value of 2 and 2 merged together.
        If you merge 4 and 4, you get 8. And so on.
        The higher the value of your merges, the higher your score gets.
        Your high score counter increases along with your current score whenever you surpass your original record.
        At the start of the game, this means they grow alongside one another.
        In later games, they will only do so if you break your previous record.
        Keep playing for as long as you can.
        The game ends when you reach the top row.
        While the game has a 6 x 5, grid, you can effectively use a 5 x 5 area.
        You can also end the game early and start again using the reset button.
        Strategy
        The game shares many features with 2048, though you can merge past 2,048 and well into 5 figures.
        It involves merging numbers into ever large numbers into shapes.
        Two key differences in this game are tiles fall downward (whereas in 2048 you can slide in any direction) and this game generates new number values at random (whereas 2048 typically concentrates on delivering new tiles which mostly have low numerical values).
        However in this game, you also know what you’ll be getting next. This allows you to plan your moves a bit better.
        Try to concentrate the largest numbers in one specific corner.
        Plan ahead. Know where you should place the next block before you lay your current one.
        Pay attention to where you choose to lay down each block. If the block moves where you do not want it to go, it can throw off your plans.
        A well placed block can trigger a chain of merges. This can free up a lot of space and earn you more points quickly.
        If you get a high value block, immediately place it close to where you’ll expect to merge it.
        Avoid trapping low-value blocks in places you can’t merge them.
        All they’ll do is occupy space and be unreachable.
        The flip side of this statement is that whenever possible you should generally want to place a block on top of a block which has the same value or a higher value.

        The game is suited for players who like simple merging games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
